HTC HD7S announced at CTIA 2011 – Does Better Screen Interest You?

By Updated on

In the midst of all the smartphone and tablet announcements at CTIA 2011, you may be interested to hear that AT&T has just announced the HTC HD7S, which is a new version of the Windows Phone 7 handset with one notable difference.

As you probably already know, the HTC HD7 has been available on T-Mobile in the US and on O2 in the UK for quite some time. However, AT&T has now got in on the action with the HTC HD7S which packs a much brighter display than the original HD7, as reported from PocketNow.

Rather than just 4.3-inch LCD screen, the HTC HD7S will have a 4.3-inch WVGA super LCD which is apparently a lot brighter than the HD7. Other specs include a 1Ghz processor, a 5 megapixel camera, 720p HD video recording and 8GB of internal memory.

Other than the change of display screen, the only notable differences is that you’ll have AT&T as carrier instead of T-Mobile, and that the handset will come pre-loaded with the NoDo copy and paste update that is now beginning to roll out to WP7 devices.

The question is though, is just a better screen enough to warrant a purchase? The large display is pretty stunning, but we can’t help but feel there are still better handsets out there for your money, like the HTC EVO 3D on Sprint. Let us know your thoughts on it.
