As we reported earlier today its all systems go concerning the launch for the iPad 2 in twenty five countries’s this coming Friday. We also now know how much the device will cost in the UK, but how much stock will there be available?
Desire Athow over at IT ProPortal have contacted a few DSGI stores across London concerning availability of the iPad 2. They were told stock is extremely tight and PC World would get priority with stock over Curry’s or Dixons.
An employee from the chain also confirmed some stores have yet to receive their allocation of iPad 2s, and it was hinted that some stock issues may be related to an issue on Apple’s side. This is only speculation so there could be no problems concerning stock.
The DSGI group is thought to be issuing a statement on Thursday concerning the iPad 2, but the information concerning PC World getting priority with stock is strange, as the Curry’s website is the only one to have a preregistration page.
If you are planning on getting the iPad 2 on Friday your best bet will be from Apple itself. If you have an Apple Store close by and don’t mind queuing up you may have one by the end of Friday. Or otherwise if you don’t mind waiting for shipping times get one from Apple’s online store.
How will you be purchasing the iPad 2 on Friday?
