Tom Clancy’s 3D Games For Nintendo 3DS

By Updated on

Back in January we brought you details and a few screens for Ubisoft’s much-anticipated Nintendo 3DS launch title Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 3D, which as some of you will know is a reimagined version of the hugely popular Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory game.

That doesn’t appear to be the only Tom Clancy game launching alongside the Nintendo 3DS either, as Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars will also be made available upon release. Dominic Sacco over at mcvuk.com has provided a little preview of the two upcoming Ubisoft titles.

The Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 3D game sees the main character Sam Fisher sent behind enemy lines in Korea, in order to discover who exactly sank the United States’ most advanced cruiser. The game’s core storyline and its gameplay has pretty much remained the same.

However, the gameplay has of course been tweaked a little to suit the Nintendo 3DS’ various control mechanics. The 3DS’ touch screen provides players with instant access to all the gadgets, weapons and mission details, while the slide pad makes Sam Fisher easier to control.

Meanwhile, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars is a turn-based strategy game with a gritty storyline and hardened soldiers. The Shadow Wars title is played from a top-down perspective, with players having to use the touchscreen to navigate the map and give out orders.

Are you thinking of getting a Nintendo 3DS, and would you buy either of the Tom Clancy titles alongside it?
