We have a bit of good news now for those of you that own an Apple iPad and like keeping up to date with the latest news, as Sky News has just released its official iPad application onto the Apple App Store. The app will provide users with a mix of both live and on-demand video.
As Stuart Dredge over at guardian.co.uk recently noted, the Sky News app also features interactive graphics, text stories and photo galleries. Although the app doesn’t actually cost anything to download at the moment, it will only be free for a limited amount of time.
The broadcaster said that sometime in the near future, non-Sky customers will have to begin paying for the application via an in-app subscription. Existing Sky customers on the other hand will see the price included within their subscription to the broadcaster’s service.
One of the great things about the Sky News app for the iPad is the fact that it enables users to watch the Sky News channel live, or rewind if they missed the beginning part of a story. The broadcaster also stated that the stories will be added to the application’s on-demand library as they are aired.
Will you be downloading the Sky News app for your iPad?
