Yesterday we linked you to IGN’s slightly disappointing Homefront review, here they scored the highly anticipated game just 7.0/10, now we thought we would see what some other critics have said about the game and it has to be said that there is a clear difference of opinion.

Metacritic has collected together 38 critic reviews for the Xbox 360 version of the game and calculated its Metascore, at the time of this post it had a Metascore of 71/100, you can see links to all 38 reviews here, XboxAddict score it 93/100 whilst JoyStiq score it just 50/100, the reviews we would recommned are: GamePro 80/100, Official Xbox Magazine 80/100 and GameSpot 70/100.

As for the PS3 version this has a Metascore of 75/100, however is only based on 21 critic reviews. You can see links and scores from a wide-range of critic reviews here, 3DJuegos score it 86/100, whilst 1UP score it just 67/100 StrategyInformer sum things up by saying “Incredibly rough around the edges, wasteful of unique opportunities, and light on content, we quite frankly question the longevity of this title. But you know what? There are worse games you could spend your money on

At the time of this post the PC version of Homefront had a Metascore of 74/100 (based on 9 reviews), again opinions differ, GamingExcellence score it 84/100 and say “If you’ve been looking forward to Homefront since last year’s E3 like we have, you’ll be glad to know that Kaos has delivered a truly fantastic shooter. And if you’re the kind of gamer that values quality over quantity, then you’ll definitely want to check it out”, whilst GameInformer score it 70/100 saying “With its interesting premise, evocative opening sequence, and clever variation on multiplayer, Homefront has a strong foundation. It’s a shame that technical limitations and a derivative single-player campaign keep the game from realizing its potential”.

It is rare to see so many differing opinions from reputable critics, therefore we would like you to post your own mini-review in the comments section below to see what our readers make of the game, remember to score it out of 100 and say which console you are playing it on.
