It looks like the HTC Thunderbolt release date mystery is finally coming to a close, as one retailer has gone on record to say that they’ll be shipping the highly anticipated HTC Thunderbolt on Verizon on a date this month which has already been touted by many as the official launch date.
That date is March 17th, and you’ll probably already know it as a date which has been associated with the HTC Thunderbolt in the past. Retailers Wirefly have just confirmed that they’ll be selling the device on this date, while they also dropped a small bombshell by informing users that the device won’t have support for Skype video calls, but voice calls should still be ok, as reported from Engadget.
The retailer is taking orders right now as we speak, and you can view their Thunderbolt listing online and pre-order here – they are offering the device for $669 without contract, and $199 on a new two year deal with Verizon, which sounds about right to us. You’ll need to input your zipcode so they can run a quick check to see if stock is available in your area.
It’s now looking likely that the Thunderbolt will be available this Thursday, but it’s rather strange that we haven’t heard word from Verizon on this yet, since they usually kick off their advertising bandwagon early.
Will you be picking up a Thunderbolt, finally?
