Apple has now released the iPad 2 as promised back on March 2 by Steve Job’s at the special event. There has been much speculation on how well the device may sell; many believe the new tablet will outstrip the massive sales of the original last year.
When the device first went live a few hours ago shipping times were listed as three to five business days. It has now been pushed back for shipping between five to seven days. This would explain why the iPad 2 was not available for pre-order after it was first announced.
John Brownlee is reporting in an article over at Cult of Mac that these shipping times could easily increase as the day goes on. The iPad 2 could really set new records with early sales, and will Apple be able to keep up with demand?
If sales of the iPad 2 become that big in the US will it affect the planned release date across the rest of the world? Have you pre-ordered your iPad 2 yet?
