They’ve already seen their Fruit Ninja and Monster Dash games become huge hits among iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad users, and now it looks like the guys at Halfbrick Studios are hoping that their next iOS game will go down a storm on the Apple App Store as well.
As Mike Schramm over at tuaw.com recently noted, the video game developer recently revealed that they are working on a new iOS game called Machine Gun Jetpack, which not only returns to the running genre of Monster Dash, but also sees the return of Barry Steakfries.
If you’ve previously played the Monster Dash game, you will know that Barry’s special weapon is a machine gun pointed downwards that enables him to hover in the air. In Machine Gun Jetpack, the hero has to jump and hover past obstacles and enemies that get in his way.
Players are able to collect coins and power-ups along the way. The power-ups enable users to do things such as fly ahead and/or avoid the obstacles, while the coins can be put in a slot machine at the end of the run to earn players all sorts of prizes.
The collected currency can also be used to purchase special in-game upgrades, or players can choose to spend money via in-app purchases on things such as longer sliding or faster jumping. There is now specific release date as of yet, but Halfbrick Studios hope to have it ready by the summer.
