Today is World Book Day, which is a worldwide celebration of books and reading. With technology today it is far easier to read and purchase a book than ever before. eBooks are big business these days with millions of various titles available on many different platforms.

Today we have compiled a few BlackBerry applications which make getting that good read even easier. Kobo is a free application which brings a virtual library of more than two million eBooks to your BlackBerry smartphone. It features an option where you can read a chapter of a book before purchasing, and has many free and inexpensive titles.

Wattpad is the world most popular eBook community; hailed as the YouTube for eBooks it will let you access a vast range of original novels, poems, and short stories. Just like the application they are all free, and can be downloaded and read offline.

My Books is a clever application which will allow you to keep track of all the books you own, and will also allow you to keep an eye on books you intend to read in the future. Users can even make a list of books they have lent to friends, and share what you have read via Facebook and Twitter using the social media buttons. My Books costs $3.99/$3.35.

Are you reading a good book at the moment?
