As you may already know, last month BBC iPlayer became available as an app for the iPad. Now the television company plans on taking its online streaming service across the pond via the iPad, for a subscription fee of less than $10 a month.
No date has been announced as of yet but the U.S are being promised they’ll get it sometime in 2011. This comes from the Guardian who report that BBC’s Mark Thompson is assuring international launch is definitely coming this year.
As the app already exists on Android as well as the iPad it is clear there are no problems on the technical side of things with the varying platforms and compatibility, so it’s just a matter of doing enough research to know what would be the best price to charge for the service across seas.
