A lot of speculation has been made as to what the retail price will be for the upcoming and impressive looking Samsung Galaxy S II handset, but now we have another price to tell you about, this time affecting customers in Europe.
The Samsung Galaxy S II is likely to be available in Europe sometime this month, with a release in US to follow in April. If you want to pick one up in Europe, you’ll be pleased to know that pricing has been listed over on the German Amazon website.
They have listed a 599 Euro price for the handset, which converts to around $830 USD, as reported from Phandroid. Obviously it doesn’t mean that the handset will retail for $800+ in the US, since smartphone prices are generally higher in Europe due to tax and other factors.
The 599 price is for the off-contract price, so expect it to come down considerably once carriers announce their prices for the handset. Just to refresh your memory, the Galaxy S II or S2 as it’s also known will come equipped with a 1Ghz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch display, 1080p video recording, 8 megapixel rear camera and 2MP front facing camera – you can get a full specs list here.
