As most tech enthusiasts will know too well, Apple’s iPad 2 event is just hours away, as the company will finally lift the lid on the next version of their successful iPad tablet device. How much will it cost though and will it have a dual-core processor?
Although nothing is officially confirmed until we hear Apple’s Tim Cook or Steve Jobs announce it live on stage, we now have a list of specs which are thought to be featured on the next device, while we also have a potential price point to give you as well.
The list of specs has come courtesy of BGR, and they are based on solid rumors and inside information which has apparently been leaked over the past few months. Providing their information is correct, the iPad 2 should be much thinner than the iPad 1 and much lighter as well. We’ll see a dual-core processor, a 2 megapixel rear camera joined by a 1.3 megapixel front-camera, 512MB of RAM and a launch date before the end of March.
In terms of price, a potential tag of $399 could be announced at the event, which relates to the entry-level WiFi model – whether this turns out to be accurate though – remains to be seen.
One more thing, Apple could use the event to unveil iOS 5 as well, and the iPad 2 could be the first device to receive it. This is the first time such claims have been made, so we really hope that this aspect turns out to be true. Although the existing iOS 4 interface is great, we’d love it if Apple decide to give iOS a fresh makeover for version 5.
What are your thoughts on this information recap? Not long to go now guys.
