If you’re a fan of sports-related video games and you’re thinking of buying the much-anticipated Nintendo 3DS gaming system, we have news that could be of interest to you. Konami has just announced that it will be releasing the new Sports Island 3D game for the handheld device in June.
As James Orry over on the videogamer.com website notes, the Sports Island 3D game marks the debut of Hudson Soft’s mini-game collection series on the Nintendo 3DS. The title enables up to 4 players to take part in a number of events that have all been designed to show off the handheld’s 3D capabilities.

The game features a total of ten mini-games, including Tennis, Football, Ice Hockey, Basketball, Sum Wrestling, Bowling, Trampoline, Sport Blowgun, Snowball Fighting and Snowmobile Racing. It also features special power-ups, which give players advantages during specific events.
These “Super Play” actions enable players to hit their opponents with what appears to be an unstoppable move, and take the form of an unstoppable Rainbow shot in the Football event, huge jump moves and Cannon Dunk in the Basketball event and an over-sized racket/heavier ball in Tennis.
We have embedded a video trailer for the upcoming game below this post, so you can check it out for yourself.
