It wasn’t that long ago that video game developer and publisher Atlus claimed that they had no plans to launch the bizarre thriller, action-adventure puzzle game Catherine in the US. However, it now looks as though we could see a US release after all.
According to Mike Jackson from the computerandvideogames.com website (sourced from BeefJack), American retailer GameStop recently listed the Catherine video game for a July 26th release date, with Atlus USA being noted as the publisher.
Although it now appears that the page has since been removed from the GameStop website. The adult-orientated game – which is available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 – has proved to be quite a hit since releasing in Japan, and has even topped the gaming chart.
Despite the fact that it’s not been released in the west, the Catherine game still appears to have earned itself quite a fan base amongst western gamers. If the GameStop listing turns out to be correct, US gamers could be playing the game as from this summer.
We’ve embedded a gameplay trailer below this post, to give our readers an idea of what the Catherine video game is all about. Would you like to see the game released in the US? Perhaps you live in the UK or another country and would like to be able to play the game?
