If you are still eagerly awaiting the release of the Nintendo 3DS you are probably aware that it is already available in Japan, it hit stores on February 26th and we are now hearing that sales were pretty impressive.
According to AndriaSang.com there have been reports suggesting that the initial shipment has sold out completely, this news came just 1 day after the hand-held was released.
The initial shipment is said to have consisted of 400,000 units, if this news is accurate it puts Nintendo in good shape to hit their sales target, apparently they aim to sell 1.5 million Nintendo 3DS’ in Japan by March 31.
Previously Nintendo has been known for not being able to keep up with the demand, let’s just hope that this isn’t the case for the 3DS, according to Cnet Nintendo want to sell 4 million 3DS’s worldwide by March 31, it is quite worrying that there were only 400,000 to sell on its launch day, I’m sure stores would have had no trouble shifting 500,000 units if Nintendo shipped that many.
As long as Nintendo manage to keep up with the demand it is thought that they will easily meet this 4 million unit target, what do you think?
