By Peter Chubb - Feb 28, 2011

When Apple first launched the iPhone, the experts as well as us wondered what kind of a future the device would have, now in a few months time we will get to see the fifth incarnation of their smartphone. However, the main issue, as always has been with the cost, so who would have thought that the iPhone saves you money? Well, when you consider that you have access to iOS apps offering easy budgeting tips, it’s not hard to see why.

Having owned an iPhone for some years I cannot say how much it has saved me in that time, but the cost of the device has certainly paid for itself many times over. There are those that do not use their Apple handset to its full potential, but you should really look and some of the apps on iTunes, that have one purpose in mind, and that’s to save you money.

One app that comes to mind is Ultimate Budgeting Tips, ands its sole purpose is to help you if you are in a tight financial spot. More often than not, when you are given money advice by a professional they may as well be speaking Klingon. However, this app is clear and easy to understand, and having looked at a few tips will be very easy to follow. For more details visit iTunes, the price of the app is just $1.99.

Another such tip is called ExpertVideo: Budget Tips, and offers a number of video tips. We feel that in some cases this is much simpler to follow than just reading a huge list of budgeting tips. There are more than 20 video tutorials, which cover things from living on a budget to traveling on the cheap. For more details visit iTunes.

These are just two apps, but as you know there are hundreds if not thousands more to choose from. Has an iOS app helped you save money in the past?
