Chatting to loved ones and friends via a video link is increasing in popularity these days, whether it is via Skype or other means having a good quality webcam can further enhance the experience. Microsoft has just announced a HD webcam which is available at an affordable price.

Daniel Anguiano from Microsoft Hardware Blog is reporting the device will only set you back $39.95. For the money you get quite a lot of webcam, for starters there is a 720p HD sensor with TrueColor Technology.

This gives a superb performance in practically any lighting condition. You also get a universal base which can be used on a notebook, your desk, and a flat-screen monitor. The company has also added a new mouse to its range, the Comfort Mouse 3000 offers users a nice grip with either hand. It has BlueTrack Technology which allows it to be used on practically any surface, but with great precision.
