By Gary Johnson - Feb 25, 2011

A lovely children’s picture book application has recently been released for iOS devices. Leafy, the Leaf Who Wouldn’t Leave 1.0 is available for owners of the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.

The book was written in collaboration with New York based author John Hahn, and illustrator Nick Striga. Included in the lovely picture book are fun rhyming words and stunning illustrations, and tells the story of a leaf who takes an unexpected journey, but eventually finds a home and a caring friend.

Children can learn the words as they read, and the high resolution images are ideal for the iPad or the iPhone 4. There is clear audio narration which is done by a professional voice-over artist. Other features include; turn pages by swiping with your finger or using the navigation buttons, pause and start reading where you left off.

There is also different reading modes which include let me read; this is where users touch the text paragraphs to read as many times as they want. Read to me allows each page to be automatically read and paused. Auto play reads the whole story from start to finish without pausing.

Leafy, the Leaf Who Wouldn’t Leave 1.0 is available worldwide on the App Store for only $1.99/£1.19. iOS 3.2 or later required.
