By Updated on

We have some important information for those of you who are still in possession of a Samsung Captivate handset on AT&T. Samsung has finally decided the time is right to push out the official update to Android 2.2 Froyo.

As reported from Phandroid, Samsung confirmed the news on their Galaxy S Twitter account, as the update will be taking place tomorrow, February 24th at some point. Below is the message from Samsung:

”Samsung and AT&T are pleased to confirm to #Captivate users that the Android 2.2 upgrade will be available tomorrow (2/24)”

What are your thoughts on this? Are you now ready to forgive Samsung after all their previous Froyo delays, or have you already acquired Froyo via other means out of sheer frustration? Don’t ask us why it’s taken so long for them to deliver an outdated OS, especially when a lot of Android users are now enjoying 2.3/ 2.3.3 Gingerbread.

We don’t have an exact time for when the Froyo update will be rolling out, but it may be a good idea to check AT&T’s Facebook page as well in case they decide to let everyone know there.

Is this good news for you, or a reality check on how Samsung deals with Android updates?
