Risen 2: Dark Waters – First Screenshots / Details Arrive

By Updated on

We have some pretty exciting news now for those of you that enjoyed playing the original Risen game (the action-RPG released back in 2009), as Piranha Bytes and Deep Silver have now revealed the very first screenshots and details for the upcoming sequel, Risen 2: Dark Waters.

According to a recent article by Mark Fajardo over on the justpushstart.com website, the Risen 2: Dark Waters game will feature the classic RPG gameplay mechanics of the original title, but with a brand new story, new characters and a setting of island locales.

Risen 2: Dark Waters will reportedly be set several years after the ending of the first game, where monstrous creatures have arisen and are roaming the seas. Players will take on the role as a member of the Inquisition, whose quest is to stop the creatures once and for all.

As Nick Chester at destructoid.com recently reported, the publisher Deep Silver has promised fans that the Risen 2 game will be set in “the most immersive RPG game world so far.” Risen 2: Dark Waters will be released sometime later this year, and will be available for both consoles and the PC.

You can check out the very first screenshots for the Risen 2: Dark Waters game over at destructoid.com. There may only be three of them, but they are still worth taking a look at.
