Signal check returns to iOS 4.3, Beta 3 release

By Updated on

Apple’s iOS 4.3 Beta 3 continues to make the news, we recently told about some of the new features that the update will bring, and that AT&T may be having the Personal Hotspot Wi-Fi sharing option. Now today we have news that Apple may have re-introduced the signal check to the iOS 4.3 Beta 3.

David W. Martin is reporting in an article on 9 to 5 Mac, that you may be able to check how good your cellular signal is by dialing *3001#12345#* on your handset. The field test first vanished when iOS 4.0 first become available during the entire storm surrounding the Antennagate furore last year.

Then we were given a simpler version with iOS 4.1 that once you enter Field Test, the signal bars on your iPhone are replaced by a number. Your signal is worse if the numeric portion of the negative number is higher. Once you tap on the number displayed the display will switch between the signal bars and the number.

Now with the iOS 4.3 Beta 3 when you enter the field test mode you are met with this image.

This is exactly the same before iOS 4, except a bar at the bottom which just before you are met with the above image reads connecting. We still wait for an official release date for iOS 4.3, but this must be fast approaching.
