Today is National Battery Day and there are a number of ways to celebrate; some have suggested not using any electronic devices for the day – but can you really see that happening? The day is used to celebrate the invention of batteries, so why not take the Rayovac Challenge on Facebook?
The competition begun on Valentine’s Day and today is the day that you can enter the information that you have collected over the past five days. You will see a form on their Facebook page, where you need to enter your name, email, country, birthday and a five word sentence, which will be easy if you have been visiting Rayovac‘s blogs every day.
Three lucky winners will win a one-year supply of Rayovac batteries, which could run into hundreds of dollars. It is no secret that our range of electronic devices need a lot of power while we are on the go, or even for those mountain of kids toys – but not certain if we are as reliant on them any more? The reason we say this is because most of our portable devices now have batteries built-in, which can be charged time and again.
Rayovac has been around since 1906, when James Bowen Ramsay founded it, although they did start life out as the French Battery Co. It took four years for the company to start making money. It was not until 1930 when the name changed to Ray-O-Vac, and the rest they say is history.
Have you entered the competition in honor of National Battery Day?
