Nearly 800K Dorel Car Seats Recalled: Model List

By Updated on

Over the years there have been so many recalls, but the ones that we worry about the most are those that involve cars and also products that affect children. Well, we have learned that nearly 880k Doral seats are to be recalled due to an issue with their harnesses, which in some cases might not be able to hold a child safely.

This will come as no surprise that the NHTSA has been working with the Dorel Juvenile Group in this recall, but we have to warn that it involves more than one of their child seats. Some of these products not only include infant seats, but also boosters and even a stroller travel system. More details and a model list can be found here.

The NYTimes say that The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration begun an investigation into this issue last year, this was due to a number of complaints by consumers who found that the restraining straps became loose. 143 complaints were received in all, so not exactly an isolated case.

MSNBC reports that the affected child seats/boosters were made between May 1, 2008 – April 20, 2009; the easy way to tell is if the harness has a “Center Front Adjuster”.
