During CES 2011 ViewSonic announced the ViewPad 4, which is an Android based smartphone; they now have another two devices ahead of MWC on Monday. The two products in question are the V350 and ViewPad 10Pro, the former a 3.5-inch smartphone, the latter a 10-inch tablet; both running on Google’s Mobile OS and Windows 7.

The V350 has dual-SIM support, Android 2.2 Froyo, A-GPS, 5-megapixel camera and much more. This handset is perfect for those who have to visit different countries, as it allows them to keep their SIM in, as well as use the one for that particular country.

Also in the ViewSonic press release that Engadget has was the ViewPad 10Pro, which is a dual-boot device. You not only have Android but also the choice of Windows 7 as well, we do worry that the tablet will not perform as well as it should because it runs on Froyo and not 3.0 Honeycomb – the Android OS specially built for tablets.

However, we are told that this tablet will use Intel’s Oak Trail, which should help with the performance aspect. As yet there are no details on a release date or price. CNET UK does have a few issues with these dual-boot devices like these, as having the two loaded up so you can shift from one OS to the other could not only drain CPU performance but also battery life as well.

We cannot say for certain if there is a future in a dual-boot system, but if they can get the balance right without a drain on resources, then they just might stand a chance.
