We have some great news now for those of you that use the official Twitter app on your Android-based smartphones, as Twitter has just released an updated version of the popular social networking application, bringing with it a brand new user interface.
According to Eric M. Zeman over at phonescoop.com, Twitter noted that the UI re-design was aimed at making it look more like the official Twitter client of other platforms. Version 2.0 has brought many improvements to the Twitter app, including an auto-complete for @replies.
As Chris Smith over on the techradar.com website recently reported, the new auto-complete feature will now make tweeting a lot easier, as users will no longer have to type in the full username. You can also select the contact manually, by using the drop down box.
The updated app features a new tabbed interface, which means that users will now be able to slide rapidly between direct messages, lists, tweets and @replies, without having to return to the homescreen. Adding photos from your camera or gallery has been made easier as well.
Have you downloaded the update yet? If so, what do you think of the improvements?
