You would have thought that Apple would make an extra effort to ensure that the words ‘iPhone 4’ and ‘Antenna Problems‘ are never heard in the same breath again, but it looks like the new CDMA version of the device also has a dodgy antenna.
According to this report from RedmondPie, a analysis on the Verizon iPhone antenna has been provided by the guys over at iLounge and worryingly, they conclude that the device still drops signal when held in the death grip position, despite the fact that it has a resigned antenna – different from the one included in the original iPhone 4.
iLounge also state that the death grip results in a loss of signal for both cellular signal, and also when using a WiFi connection – a bit worrying when you thought the problems were over last year. If you want to see proof of the problem occuring on the recently released Verizon iPhone, check out the included video below.
Have you experienced this problem before? If you currently own the iPhone 4 on Verizon, it might be a good idea to give the ‘death grip’ a quick test to see if it affects you too, it will also give us an idea of how widespread this problem is.
