Verizon iPhone 4: TeleNav GPS App Arriving Soon

By Tina Chubb - Feb 8, 2011

We have some great news for all you Verizon iPhone 4 customers out there now, as TeleNav – the creators of the AT&T Navigator app – has just announced that it will be releasing a TeleNav GPS application for the much-awaited smartphone.

According to a recent article over at appmodo.com by Mary Ann Neder, the TeleNav app will only be free for the first 30 days. If users then choose to continue with the navigation service, they will be required to pay either $2.99 a month or $21.99 for the year.

The Verizon iPhone 4’s TeleNav GPS app features spoken turn-by-turn directions with street names, route updates and a choice of 2D or 3D moving maps, which according to Chris Burns over on the slashgear.com website enables users to zoom in and out.

The app also includes a nighttime optimized navigation feature (which automatically adjusts the brightness depending on the time of day) and a My Contacts feature that enables you to use addresses from your contacts list to find the homes of your friends.

If you’re a music lover, then the app’s iPod Control will come in really handy. The in-app iPod controls allow users to search playlists, songs and artists from within the TeleNav GPS application. You can read more about this app via slashgear.com.
