The Angry Birds game is growing in popularity with more people discovering how addictive it is all the time. We recently brought you the news of the game coming to the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii, could we also see a 3D version coming to the next version of the iPhone?
According to an article recently published by IT Pro Portal, Apple has been filing a number of patents for glassless 3D displays over recent years. These have been similar to those from Sharp Electronics which will feature on the Nintendo 3DS.
Apple may be planning such a feature on the iPhone 5 and future iPod Touch to take on the upcoming 3DS. One of the patents filed concerns adjustment to the display based on the user’s position. This may combine visual images picked up by the camera, and partnered with the built-in gyroscope and motion sensors will provide an optimum 3D projection.
Apple may wait longer before they bring any such display to its devices, as they would want the technology to be spot on before taking the plunge. CVG has recently listed things they would like to see with the iPhone 5, and a 3D version of Angry Birds appealed. How such a feature would work on a device which requires users to swipe their fingers across the screen is another matter.
As games become more complex and advanced on the iPhone, and another nice new feature would be to show off your gaming skills via a video. Whether we see any such 3D technology on the next iPhone remains to be seen, Apple may just be tweaking the next version before hitting us with some new features.
