Many of us would like to lose some weight, and learning what food can aid this and speed up the time it takes. A really useful application has just been updated which can help you to lose weight via healthy eating. iFiber 1.7 is available for owners of the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
Released by independent developer James Hollender, the app allows users to find out how much fiber is contained in well over a thousand different foods. Fiber is very healthy for us even though it passes through the digestive system without providing nutrition or calories. Area’s which eat higher amounts of fiber-rich foods are generally healthier.
Not all the reasons for this are known, but fiber-rich foods are generally healthier, and also fiber makes us feel full sooner and slows down our rate of digestion. Fiber can also move fat through our systems quicker so less of it is absorbed.
Foods are rated in the application for fiber content from extremely low to extremely high, so can assist in deciding which foods to eat. Foods can be searched by any word or partial word. All information in the app is derived from the USDA National Nutrient Database.
iFiber 1.7 is available worldwide on the App Store for only $1.99/£1.19. iOS 4.0 or later required.
