While in the Australia and the UK iOS devices have over five percent of the market share. The US is nearing the five percent mark.

In some other good news for Apple Computerworld is reporting that Mac OS X gained its biggest market jump since March 2010. Figures released by Net Applications show Mac OS X now has 5.25 percent of the market. The iOS system on the iPhone and iPad market share grew to 2.1 percent, double what it had in July.

Apple’s operating systems still have a long way to go before it catches up with Windows; with it still being outnumbered 12 to 1. Windows market share did fall below 90 percent for the first time, closing at 89.7 percent in January.
