We have a bit of disappointing news now for all you PC gamers out there who were hoping to start playing BioWare’s new MMORPG title Star Wars: The Old Republic this spring. It appears from recent reports that the game may not arrive now until later this year.
According to an article by Adam Barnes over at nowgamer.com, development sources have spoken to MCV recently and said that the upcoming game is not going to be released now until September 2011. However, a specific release date is yet to be confirmed.
If a recent comment from industry analyst Mike Hickey is anything to go by, then it doesn’t look like Electronic Arts investors have much faith in the Star Wars: The Old Republic game. Mike believes that many EA investors are betting against the SWTOR game achieving market success.
As Mike Sharkey over on the gamespy.com website reports, the Star Wars: The Old Republic game – which is set over 3,500 years before the rise of Darth Vader – will enable gamers to take on classic Star Wars universe roles, in an online battle between the Republic and the Sith Empire.
Were you looking forward to the game arriving sometime this spring?
