Recently AMD’s vice president and general manager unveiled their new Radeon HD 6990 graphics card, this card will apparently become available by the end of Q1 2011 and should be popular with high-end gamers.
Full specifications are unknown, however after translating 4Gamers’ article and looking at the photos it looks like it features 1 x Dual Link DVI-I output along with 4 x Mini Display Ports, also there appears to be a CrossFire connector, in terms of power input you will need a spare 8-pin and 6-pin PCI express power connector.

The 6990 is pretty large, it measures in at roughly 300mm and will take up two slots on the back of your case (see below), the lower of the two slots will be used for ventilation, which is not uncommon for a card of this calibre.
Hopefully soon we will find out more about this graphics card, when we do we will keep you up-to-date with all of the relevant information, I wonder how it will do in benchmark tests….
