We have some worrying news to bring to PS3 owners of Call of Duty: Black Ops, as it has been reported that Activision may be looking into the possibility of closing down the PS3 servers to fix the ongoing connection problem which is affecting the game.
As reported from VG247, the news comes from Activision themselves, as a support representative named Dov Carson, messaged a user, with regards to the connection problems, which you won’t need us to remind you, remains a constant frustration.
Below is the key portion of what Carson, of Activision said:
“The publishers have the right to shut down the servers for their game at any time as well which based on the number of reported posts from users may be a viable solution over the free PSN,”
Furthermore, rather than offer the user (Jason Koblovsky) a peace of mind in saying that the connection problems will be fixed up by Treyarch, Activision offered the user a free unsealed game to take back to the retailer, or the chance to exchange it for another Activision title.
What are your thoughts on this one? How would you feel if Activision shut down the PS3 servers to fix the connection problems for good? Is this the right step or not?
