Sony has recently unveiled details regarding their new VAIO Y series notebooks, these will become available towards the end of this month, however we cannot yet confirm a price, today we will look at the Intel Core i3-based VPCYA1V9E/B model.
This notebook features an Intel Core i3-380um (1.33Ghz) processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM, Intel HD graphics, a 500GB SATA hard drive and a 11.6-inch display which supports a maximum resolution of 1366×768 as you probably expected it runs Windows 7 (Professional 64-bit).

Other specs worth mentioning include WiFi b/g/n, HDMI-out, Bluetooth 2.1, a built-in webcam, a built-in microphone and 3 X USB 2.0 ports. The laptop itself weighs 1.4kg and measures in at 202.8 x 25 x 290 mm.
There is also an AMD equivalent being released, this is the Sony VAIO Y VPCYB1S1E/S. we will be writing an article about this laptop’s specs later today.
