Just over a year ago HTC released the Windows Mobile-based HTC HD2, now the Dark Forces Team has released a Windows Phone 7 ROM for the handset along with a demo video showing it running pretty well on the smartphone.
We have embedded the video at the end of this post, originally there was no access to any Windows Live and Marketplace services, however if you check out this link you can see a video showing the device with these services working.

You can see a video showing someone flashing the HTC HD2 to run Windows Phone 7 here, I have looked around for a complete how to guide to no avail, therefore if any of our readers have found one let us know in the comments section below.
With a 1GHz processor, a 4.3-inch display and a 5 megapixel camera the HTC HD2 still has some life in it yet, let’s just hope the Dark Forces Team continue to work hard on the ROM to smooth out any bugs and stability issues.
You can see the demo video below showing WP7 running on the HD2 thanks to Engadget, it will be interesting to see if an official WP7 ROM is released by HTC for the HD2 as this is what was meant to be the case when the HD2 was first released.
Do you think the Windows Mobile OS holds back the HD2′s true potential?
