If you have successfully installed Android 2.2 FroYo on your Samsung Intercept think yourself lucky, we are hearing reports suggesting that since Sprint rolled out the new firmware update it has bricked a lot of handsets, however, there is a fix.
The problem must be pretty widespread as a Sprint technician has wrote an article explaining how you can get around this problem, you must have FroYo already on your Intercept for this fix to work, also before attempting to fix your smartphone ensure that you have it plugged into the mains.
Firstly download this file and copy it to an SD card, put the SD card in your Intercept and remove the battery, replace the battery and then hold down the volume key and the talk end keys simultaneously until you see a screen saying “Android system recovery”, here you must scroll down to “apply sdcard:update.zip” and then press enter, over the next 10 minutes or so your phone will fix itself, if all goes to plan once complete your phone will reset and voila, all done.
According to the Sprint technician who wrote the article he has tried it on multiple Intercepts without this method failing also all user data should stay intact, providing you didnt attempt a factory reset before carrying out this fix.
