Bejeweled 3: Review Round-Up for PC

By Tina Chubb - Dec 7, 2010

If you’re anything like me and love the old puzzle games, then Bejeweled is most likely at the top of your favorites list. Now that Bejeweled 3 is available to download for the PC, I thought I would take a quick look at a few of the reviews that have already surfaced online.

The first review comes from Charles Onyett over at uk.pc.ign.com, who gives the popular puzzle game an impressive 8 out of 10. All players have to do in this completely addictive game is to simply match up three or more gems of the same color in a row, causing them to break and clear the board.

There are a few modes to choose from in Bejeweled 3, including the simple, low pressure Classic mode, the Zen mode – which allows you to swap and break the gems without any restrictions – and a Lightning mode that is ideal for those gamers who are looking for something a little more challenging.

According to this reviewer, the only downside to the game is the lack of online leader boards. The next review I came across is from David Collins over at gamefocus.ca. This reviewer appears as equally impressed as the last one, and has given the Bejeweled 3 game a score of 8.2 out of 10.

Although David notes that Bejeweled 3 does have some cool new modes and some tight and shiny visuals, he does go on to say that they do get a bit old after a while. The final review comes from Dale North over at destructoid.com, who gave the game a very impressive 9.

While Butterflies and Diamond Mine are among this reviewer’s favorite modes, he does note that Ice Storm is the most stressful of them all. The visuals have received an update in Bejeweled 3 (support for a resolution of up to 1920 x 2000 in Ultra Mode), and the sound is said to be great too.
