Today is a great day to be working for Nintendo, apparently they are getting an extremely large bonus of roughly £11,000. The increase is pretty much the largest in the Japanese industry and is slightly more than last year’s increase.
Nintendo for the first time in 7 years have actually reported a loss, obviously the bonuses aren’t based on company profits they must be based on something else, perhaps individual or departmental performances.
When you think about the cost of living out there that is one heck of an increase so well done to all of those Nintendo employees that got it. It’s not only the cost of living but most things are cheaper out there. It would be very interesting to see how much of an increase that the guys within Sony’s PlayStation department and Microsoft Xbox’s got especially seeing as their profits are up.
Fred Dutton at eurogamer.com reports that In October, the platform holder announced a ¥2 billion net loss compared to the same six month period in 2009, which saw a ¥69.5 billion profit.
It’s not the only surprise from Nintendo, if you visit their official website then you are in for a bit of a shock. They have dedicated their home page to Donkey Kong Country Returns, the latest Wii release complete with music and animation. This is certainly the case for the UK domain.
