I have had a slingbox solo for 3 years, it's fine on a netbook but will not stream to my iPad when I am on another network. It just keeps stopping and starting. What they do not point out on the app is that before you buy it you should check your upload speed, it must be 500 Kpbs or greater. Sadly my upload is 375 and this is fairly typical for the uk unless you are on a super fast package ( eg BT Infinity). Look at the app reviews and check before you buy, a lot of people are reallly hacked off. Sling Media say that you can always use the iPhone version in compatibility mode, that will be another £18 !!!!!

  • Sadly the iPhone application streams smoother on the iPad than the iPad version. Features are gorgeous and controls are smoother than ever. Picture quality in both HD and SD is fantastic. Other issue is that I had to replace my Slingbox Pro with a new Slingbox Solo in order for the app to function at all. One major update and it will be worth everything invested.
