Samsung Nexus S: Sample Photos – 5MP Camera Disappointing?

By Alan Ng - Nov 14, 2010

Following on from the recent leaked photographs of the Google Nexus Two, now known to be called the Samsung ‘Neuxs S’, we now have more details for you, this time showing a few sample pictures from the Nexus S camera.

As reported from TechCrunch, three low-quality images have appeared on a Google Picasa album online, and we can see that the photos were definitely taken with the Nexus S, thanks to the included photo information besides the pictures.

While the photos itself are nothing special, the important information to come out of them is the fact that the Nexus S is likely to be equipped with a 5 megapixel camera, which may be a disappointment for some of you expecting an 8MP+ sensor.

If you’d like to see the photos, you’ll find them over at TechCrunch. Are you disappointed that the Nexus S will only come with a 5MP camera or not?

Megapixels don't matter anymore. 5MP can produce large, high-quality prints. 8MP or even 10MP camera phones have been released, but none match the picture quality on the 5MP iPhone 4 camera.

Samsung/Google should save their megapixel marketing money and invest in quality lenses and better low-light performance instead.

  • I have to say I’m very impressed with the strength of the gorilla glass on the Samsung tablet.Truly awesome. If the Playbook isn’t upto scratch a Samsung tab would be my next option.I couldn’t give 2 hoots about the camera so long as I it is of reasonable quality like the 5 meG camera on my Torch.I’m much more concerned how the unit works in terms of its programmes-the things I can do with it that I could’t do if I didn’t have it.I looked at an N8 with a 12 meg cam and for me the physical key board is much more important for easy texting.

Of course! Nexus phones should be ground breaking. There are already a few phones out that have 8MP cameras. I expect at least an 8MP camera and a +4" screen and hdmi.
