We already explained in a recent post that it is the 160th Birthday of Robert Louis Stevenson, and is being celebrated with a Google Doodle. The famous author and poet had written many great stories, one of which was Treasure Island, which has now met with the digital age in way of an app.
The current version of the iOS app is v1.01, which was update on October 27th, and will no doubt see another updated once iOS 4.2 is released. For those of you who have never read Treasure Island, you will love the story, as it has pirates in – something that has been made more popular thanks to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.
It is a tale about “pirates and buried gold”, and I was shocked to learn that it was published into a book way back in 1883, although it appeared a few years before that under a different name.
Treasure Island, by Robert Louis Stevenson app costs just $1.99 from the iTunes store. We have to point out that this app is for the iPad only, so much easier to read than on the iPhone. Are you a fan of Robert Louis Stevenson’s work?
