Following on from our earlier report which brought you the disappointing news about iOS 4.2 being delayed, we now have specific details regarding the reason for the delay, as well as a related video to show you.
As we told you before, iOS 4.2 has been delayed due to a suspected problem with the WiFi connection feature on the iPad, and we’ve found an article over at MacStories which has a lot more details on this.
According to them, the iPad has a problem where it will keep disconnecting from a local WiFi network after a few minutes of successfully connecting to it. This is obviously a pretty big deal, and explains why Apple are holding back from releasing iOS 4.2 to the public until it is sorted out for good.
We told you that the update is now thought to be coming on Tuesday 16th November – we’ll let you know if that changes over the weekend. In the meantime, check out the video below which shows the WiFi problem at first hand.
