When Apple first launched the App Store and came up with the slogan “There’s an app for that”, I bet you never thought that there would be an STD one? Well, it seems as though your iPhone is soon to become your mobile doctor thanks to a small device that connects to your handset.
It is no secret that sexually transmitted diseases has been on the rise in the UK, so makes sense to make something available to help test the younger generation who will appreciate the idea of using one of the most important things in their life.
According to The Guardian, the small device will be dispensed from vending machines, where you can then spit or wee on it and then plug it into the iPhone. Within minutes a diagnosis will be received, saving you the embarrassment of going to the doctors.
The small devices will cost from 50p to £1, the vending machines will be at supermarkets, nightclubs, pharmacies etc. if you test positive for an STD the app will tell you where you need to go to receive treatment.
Do you think that we are putting too much reliance on our iPhone; surly it would still be better to visit a GP?
