Nexus One: Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update – Release Date ETA

By Updated on

We have some fantastic news for Google Nexus One owners now, as it has been reported that Google is now preparing a surprise update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Best of all, it is expected to drop within days.

According to this report from Engadget, a member of the Open Handset Alliance has revealed via Twitter that Google is preparing an update for the developer version of the Nexus One. Here is below, translated from Spanish:

”Prepare your Nexus One (Developer version) for Android OTA update 2.3 (Gingerbread) in the next few days :-D”

You have to say that this is pretty amazing news, especially considering that most Nexus One owners have now switched their attention to the rumored Nexus Two handset from Samsung. Hopefully we’ll be able to bring you news on this, and if other handsets will be getting the Gingerbread treatment as well.

Stay tuned.

Waiting anciously is an understatement…makes me love my N1 even more…knowing it will be enjoying some the tastee treats (GB) Google has been baking soon b4 some of the other highend Android devices will get froyo…huge smile. A side sound off…As for the rumured Samsung Nexus S…no rush make sure u release a device worthy of the Nexus name…dual-core is a must, Hspa+/4G a must. While u are at it throw in the new 4 inch Samoled2 screen..also an 8 megcam will be better than the usual 5megs we have all come to know…heck it is a Nexus for gods sake. Oh..tons of memory Ram/Rom…say 8 or more on top of the 32Gb sd card slot.

Well where is it Google?! Pushin the Nexus S instead? C’mon. What about us originals? The ones who bought the Nexus One? The Nexus S is tempting, but its not an envelope pusher like the Nexus One was for the time… stickin with my Nexus One for a long time to come, even though i got it 12 months ago!
