We have some slightly disappointing news to bring to those of you who are thinking of picking up the Samsung Galaxy Tab on Verizon, as it has just been revealed that there will not be support for Skype calling over a 3G network.
As reported from BGR, this hasn’t been confirmed by either Skype or Verizon yet, but it looks like this is a reality for all future Galaxy Tab owners on Verizon.
We don’t know if this is down to a technical problem with Skype or Verizon’s 3G data network, but as it stands at the moment, you’ll only be able to make Skype video calls over a WiFi connection.
Is this a potential deal-breaker for you, or are you not too bothered about making Skype calls over 3G? Considering that the Galaxy Tab is running Android 2.2 and the Android community are very clever these days, an alternative may pop up sometime after release.
Give us your thoughts on this.
