When Sprint launched the HTC EVO 4G earlier this year we were amazed at how well the Android handset performed, but one area left a lot to be desired – battery performance. Some owners decided to purchase a Powermat, but this wireless charging system was a bit on the bulky side. However, there is a new model out and it is much slimmer than the previous model.
The induction charging company has not only slimmed down its Powermat system for the EVO, but for a range of other top selling smartphones as well. Some of these phones include the Apple iPhone, HTC HD2, Motorola Droid X and the BlackBerry Bold and Curve.
To give you an idea of just how much slimmer these new models are, you will see a video below after CJ Lippstreu from Smart Keitai purchased one. The cost of both the mat and receiver door set will cost $59.99. You can purchase just the receiver for $39.99.
Do you think that in this day and age we should rely on third-party batteries in order to have enough power to keep our cell phones running for a complete day?
