We finally have the good news which many of our readers have been waiting for, the Verizon Wireless price and release date for the Samsung Galaxy Tab!

This news was revealed by Verizon earlier today, they say that the Android-based tablet will cost $599.99 and will become available on November 11th, making it slightly cheaper than the 16GB Wi-Fi + 3G Apple iPad ($629).

Obviously if you want 3G connectivity you will have to agree a Verizon data plan, we spoke about a new $15 data plan earlier today, this is not available yet, so we recommend the $20/month data plan which gives you up to 1GB of 3G data.

If you head over to the official Verizon Wireless Samsung Galaxy Tab website you can find out more, also you can sign up for email updates regarding the device.

Will you buy the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tab? If not, what puts you off?

$600 + $20/mo is too much. $400 is the max I'd pay. $20/mo for 1Gb might be okay, but only if the overage fee isn't too onerous. You shouldn't have to be terrified of going a little bit over.

No way – It's a nice unit, but 600 + a data plan.. forget it! If I'm paying for a data plan, I want to have the same deal as adding a phone to a contract which is buy the phone for a low % of the retail price. Instead of meeting Apple, make Apple come down to us.

I'm not getting either one, but for that little price difference I'd get the iPad.

For $250 – $350 just get a folding 10 in screen, with data plan and put the rest in you pocket, yet some might say, "Oh, but it's not a touch screen". If one just waits a few months, the price will cave, kinda like the original $10,000 dollar LCD TV's a few years ago, I'll bet some are still paying them off…..
