Do you remember last June when Microsoft’s Kevin Turner said that the iPhone 4 was Apple’s Vista? Well I am quite certain that he is now feeling a little stupid after Steve Jobs announced that the iPhone 4 has sold in record numbers.
Turner made that comment after all the issues that Apple had with the iPhone 4 over the antenna issue, as he assumed that Apple would have issued a recall. Saying that a rivals product would be as bad as Vista, certainly shows how bad the OS was – even worse when it comes from Microsoft themselves.
Apple’s Q4 2010 earnings were certainly impressive, mainly helped by sales of the iPhone; 14.1 million of these smartphones were shifted in that three-month period. MG Siegler from TechCrunch said that these strong sales have now pushed them past RIM with smartphone sales in the U.S.
I love my iPhone 4 and have always purchased the new model every time they get released, but I just feel that my excitement for the device has dwindled since the antenna issue. I always use a bumper and still have issues with my signal – the 3GS had much better reception wherever I went.
Do you think that the iPhone 4 is seen as a step back from the 3GS?
