Angry Birds has been some what of a cult-favorite amongst Apple and Android users since its release on October 16, and is ever increasing in popularity. This is shown by the remarkable number of downloads the game has had which Rovio, the games developer, say tallies up to well over 2 million already.
Angry Birds saw its rise to fame when it was released for the iOS platform on the iPhone and iPod Touch costing $0.99, and now has been added to the Android Market.
Upon release of the game on GetJar, the demand for the game was so big that the servers were battered with requests and downloads for the game that apparently had over 90,000 downloads “in seconds.”
This prompted GetJar to redirect users to the mobile version of their website (m.getjar.com) to download the app that way.
Both free and paid-for version of the game are available. The free version is no different from the retail version but does come with ads supported. The retail version obviously comes with no ads, and 195 levels for you to enjoy.
