Back in April Peter Chubb brought you details on the Panasonic AG-AF100 Camcorder, although the only information we had on release was sometime at the end of this year. I can now confirm that according to Donald Melanson from engadget.com, it will start to ship as from 27th December.
This professional camcorder from Panasonic is priced at $4,995, and can record at variable frame rates from 12p to 60p, as well as a native 1080p high definition resolution. It will be compatible with a wide range of micro 4/3-inch lenses, adapters and filters.
Because the AF100 is designed with the video and film production industry in mind, you get to benefit from professional audio, dual slots supporting SDHC or SDXC memory cards, ports include USB 2.0, HDMI and HD-SDI out.
Without the lens or battery, it only weighs 3.5 pounds whilst providing built-in features such as an optical ND filter, stereo microphone, SMPTE timecode recording, Dynamic Range Stretch. How do you think the AF100 compares to others on the market?
